Oil and Sebum
Oil & Sebum
Excess oil is a root cause of enlarged pores, acne, and skin inflammation!
Simply removing surface oil is only a temporary fix.
The Other offers [prescription retinoid therapy + anti-glycation lifestyle coaching + precision PTT & Skin Botox] through a multidimensional plan designed to restore the skin ecosystem to a healthy, balanced state.
Medical Gold Standard: Retinoid Prescription
Topical retinoids prescribed under precise dermatologist guidance are central to sebum control.
Personalized Medication Selection
We select and prescribe advanced prescription medications such as tretinoin, adapalene, and trifarotene according to each patient’s skin sensitivity and sebum level.
Indication Optimization
Indiscriminate use can cause irritation. The Other also provides a “retouching guide” that teaches the right amount and frequency so the medication can settle into the skin and help normalize sebaceous glands.
Improving the Internal Environment: Anti-Glycation and Diet
Sebum is closely linked to what we eat. Without managing glycotoxins within the skin, the effectiveness of any treatment can be reduced.
Glycemic Index (GI) Management
High-GI foods can rapidly raise insulin levels and trigger a surge in sebum production. The Other provides essential dietary guidance for sebum control.
Anti-Glycation Solution
To block the process in which excess sugar alters skin proteins and stimulates sebaceous glands, we actively recommend products based on anti-glycation principles along with lifestyle correction.
The Other Specialized Treatment: Low-Pulse PTT & Skin Botox
With The Other’s proprietary techniques that go beyond the limits of devices alone, we directly manage sebaceous glands.
Rather than using a conventional approach, we apply The Other’s proprietary low pulse-width setting. This precisely targets and destroys not only abnormal sebaceous glands but also overactive normal sebaceous glands.
Botox injected shallowly into the dermis not only tightens pores but also suppresses nerve signaling involved in sebum secretion. When combined with PTT, the oil-reducing effect is maximized, completing a smoother skin texture.
Self-Check
Does my skin urgently need “barrier reconstruction”?
My entire face becomes very shiny within just 1–2 hours after cleansing.
Because of oiliness, my makeup wears off quickly or often darkens.
My skin produces a lot of sebum, yet feels tight and sensitive inside—an oily yet dehydrated skin type.
The pores around my nose and front cheeks are becoming wider, and blackheads are persistent.
My eating habits are irregular, and frequent sweets or refined flour intake makes sebum control difficult.
Design luminous skin, not oily skin!
